Apple held out for the release of IPAD 2 in Japan, the country continues to face the aftermath of last week's earthquake and tsunami.
The international launch of the tablet is scheduled for March 25, Apple All Things Digital said that at present the country and company personnel in Japan should focus on more important issues.
"We are delaying the release of IPAD 2 in Japan as the country and our teams are focused on recovery from the recent catastrophe, " said a spokesman. "Our hearts are with the people of Japan, including our employees and their families who have been affected by this terrible tragedy. "
Apple has not announced a new release date.
The devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami will probably also affect the national technology industry, including production of parts for the iPad. For example, Toshiba makes NAND flash memory chips used in Apple products, including the iPad. Toshiba plant has closed due to damage, no date yet for reopening.
