No SXSW. The perfect extension for those not here.

For now, even if you're at SXSW, it is likely SXSW disease. Why? Because each tweet is fucking other SXSW. I'm here, and Twitter about it, and I'm sick of it. But luckily Lanyrd has created the perfect extension.

Not at SXSW is a Firefox extension that alters Chrome and Twitter.com to remove all the tweets that refer to the conference. But that's not good enough. So the extension also blocks all tweets from Twitter users know to attend SXSW!

It is brilliant. Not perfect, but it's close.

And it is quite easy to make the extension in and out of Twitter.com (just click on the link back to the top of the sequence shown tweets how many are hidden by SXSWness). From here you can also choose to hide only the hashtag tweets o # # SXSW sxswi and / or assistants known.

And you think Lanyrd SXSW are enemies are also behind perhaps the best (unofficial) Guide to SXSW in Austin. They're just smart enough to realize that not everyone cares about the conference - or worse, some people are forced to stop following users to stop the flow of tweets relating to SXSW.

Other new companies have extensions to selectively block the tweets of your current - Slipstream is a great tool for this - but Lanyrd is built for one purpose: to attack with nuclear weapons technology / movies / music hipsters.
