One thing leads to another. First we have a series of screen flicker reports of people using an HDMI to DVI adapter with your Apple TV, and now an Apple representative confirmed on Apple's support forms that the company is indeed "aware of this problem and working on a solution. "No details for the moment, but it seems you can be sure that Apple will not go behind you because your TV does not have an HDMI port.

Starting today, users tired Twitter Firesheep can check the "Always use https" setting on the bottom of the settings in your profile. Apple Keeps Right On Approving Amazon And Netflix Updates Without In-App Payments

0 comments Posted by ADMIN on Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Remember when everyone was going crazy at the changes in Apple's subscription application? You should. It was just a month ago. And while some of the fears that arose seem very real, the two things that people focus on the implementation of Amazon Kindle and the application of Netflix. Well guess what? Both received updates today, and does not include changes that supposedly required.

When Apple first announced the subscription option under the text seems to indicate that any application that offers a subscription outside the application would now have to provide within the application as well - that Apple could have 30 percent of the court . The same was said was true for purchases in your application. If you sold the content outside the application (web) to be used in this application, which is supposed to provide in the application as well (and with a warranty that equals the best price). But again, a month later, Netflix and Amazon continue to receive updates of applications and does not include these changes.

After the initial shock, Apple CEO Steve Jobs reportedly responded to some e-mails sent to her way said that policy was under subscription to "editing applications, SaaS applications." But we have heard numerous reports of rejected applications Apple does not publish for reasons that are not offering the new system implementation. It's a bit confusing.

It is certainly possible that even applying Shop respondents were confused by the rules at first and began to reject some applications that should have been overlooked. Apple may also saw the initial fuss and quietly dropped to the new rules. Either way, it seems quite clear at this point that Apple has no immediate plans to start making Netflix and Amazon follow these new rules. (Although Sony eReader application was rejected apparently for doing what the application does Amazon Kindle.)

And while Apple has apparently uses a grace period to adopt the new rules, once again, already rejecting applications news and updates to applications that did not. EReader application including Sony, which they said was similar to the Kindle. But for some reason, Amazon and Netflix have avoided this fate. And that could be a very good sign.

I just loaded the new Kindle Netflix and application updates, and neither has the features for the payment through under a subscription and content, respectively. In fact, the Kindle still has a nice big button to go to the Kindle store, located on the web.

The big questions: Apple's favoritism? Kindle application and implementation of Netflix are very popular. Apple forced to use the new rules could lead to them to withdraw their applications IOS platform (you have to believe that Amazon would not be right to pay Apple a cut of 30 percent), and that hurt Apple. Or is it just that Apple relaxed the rules after the initial shock? Or are they waiting for the hammer to fall real until after your grace period is over? Or is it just that everyone was going crazy for nothing, anyway?

Mobile App Users Are Both Fickle And Loyal: Study

0 comments Posted by ADMIN on Tuesday, March 15, 2011

A study published by the Massachusetts-based application Localytics analyst firm today confirms my suspicion that we both love - and quickly gets bored - our mobile applications. And, perhaps, that the studies are confirmed almost anything.

In Part 1 of their study, Localytics analyzed thousands of Android, iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry and Windows 7 uses the phone. Through its real-time application analysis service, they found that while most smartphone users are willing to try new applications (as evidenced by the 10 billion downloads from iTunes Store) 26 percent of the time to download an application, used once, never using it again.

With 400,000 iPhone / apps IPAD and 200,000 Android applications and the total number of users of smartphones grows to 61.5 million in the fourth quarter, appification our mobile experience continues to grow at a rapid pace. And therefore, it seems that many are pounding fellow MG Siegler TechCrunch described as the "wall of implementation."

On the other side of the coin, in Part 2 of the study was released today, Localytics found that 26 percent of application users are loyal, repeat customers, new applications use more than 10 times. Yes, the same percentage as the number of former smokers. And many loyal users and then switch to using the application of hundreds of times.

Although a high number of downloads I always feel very well to application developers, they can be misleading. If customers leave an application after a single use, high download numbers are actually part of a high turnover rate. the measurement of user participation, then it seems equally - if not more - important, especially as the number of mobile applications is growing exponentially.

Moreover, retention loyalty is precious, so encouraging users and users to reach back more than once has become (or should be) a top priority for developers. Many try to encourage repeat visits using the application purchases, subscriptions that offer new content, notices and updates. These methods are especially important considering how many developers make their money by shopping at the application and mobile advertising.

Therefore, it is 26 percent empty glass, or 26 percent complete? The good news is that it seems possible that so many loyal customers for application developers since they are the ones who are fickle. And here is for developers to find them, wherever they are.

Announced in 2010, the BlackBerry Developer Conference last fall, BBM Social Platform has just become available for third party developers interested in beta. Of course, we may hope that opens up to other BlackBerry Messenger (read: non-BlackBerry) through API platforms ... but yes, that is not happening yet. In contrast, the SDK enables people developing for BlackBerry OS to integrate the capabilities of BBM in their own applications, and the capability list is extensive: you will be able to read and update user profiles, chats BBM integrated into your application, and transfer files, just to name some of the big (with permission, of course). The current beta version works for Java applications, while RIM is hard at work developing a new version for release in April will add WebWorks web application compatibility.

Adobe Just Made Medialets Its Mobile Ad Server

0 comments Posted by ADMIN on Tuesday, March 15, 2011

For all the anguish at the lack of Flash on iPads Apple and the iPhone, most of the discussion seems to center around video. However, a larger impact by far is in display advertising, which is usually done mostly in Flash. Adobe Flash needs no alternatives to tablets and smartphones, especially for people who design ads.

Today, Adobe announced it is integrating mobile advertising platform Medialets "in his own creation suite. Medialets Designers can insert ads into InDesign layouts and then serve them in mobile applications. The reason for this is remarkable is that Medialets essentially become de facto server plug-in for Adobe mobile advertising. Medialets technology 'works with Flash and IOS devices. That the powers of advertising in the daily application IPAD, for example, a position which earned more than iAds Apple.

Mobile advertising display is still in its infancy, especially in applications. Even Apple is having trouble getting advertisers to renew their advertising contracts, so much so that recently had to reduce the minimum amount for a campaign iAds of $ 1 million to $ 500,000. Steve Jobs could sell a $ 1,000,000 campaign for mobile ads, but the junior sales staff can not.

Also, Apple charges different Taling percentage of ad revenue in an application instead of charging a flat fee. How integrated suite from Adobe is a big deal for Medialets, you can use all the help we can get to go against Apple, Google and other major mobile advertising platforms.

Wikio rumored to close a round of eight-figure investment on its way to become champion of Euro Internet

0 comments Posted by C'MaYaD on Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Yes, this round of financing is more massive big. Well, at least for Europe. And while it may be nowhere near Groupon, like, billions of dollars throughout the year, is certainly among the largest deals this side of the Atlantic.

Multiple sources have confirmed that they are currently in discussions with Luxembourg-based Wikio Group, which is in the process of securing a major funding round. While no official information has been released, the number 8 figures could easily reach 9 dollar figures given the current exchange rate. Making it one of the largest rounds of funding to be held in Europe this year.

The company founded by Pierre Chappaz, who also founded Kelkoo price comparison site (which happened to Yahoo in 2004 for € 475 000 000 or $ 670 million), could be on its way to the construction of the Internet to all European giant has been waiting for. The so-called "European equivalent of the demand for media" currently manages six flagship products, such as blogging platform Overblog, News Wikio Wikio experts Wikio Shopping, local search engine Ebuzzing Nomao and recommendation site. According to internal statistics, these 6 units has more than 120 million visits to cash in February alone.

The last half of 2010 was particularly active for Wikio, which not only concentration but also Overblog Nomao. Apparently, the merger with Overblog has proved very successful, in February Overblog reported its highest growth in traffic to date, reaching 98 million visitors that month. Then, in late 2010, the company announced a € 4 million round of funding followed by the launch of Experts Wikio, a "content on demand" publishing platform for independent writers of origin.

The 140-person company seems to be working its way to becoming Europe's leading social Internet. But does it make sense to call a potential champion Euro Wikio Internet? For starters, there are now 11 experienced entrepreneurs in the Wikio management team, including Frédéric Montagnon, Romanette Julien, Quasar Bertrand, Laurent and Yves Binard Languepin (plus Chappaz). These entrepreneurs are not in their initial start-up and have gone through previous acquisitions. In addition, the company is generating cash and is almost profitable, was not trying to raise money after the round that closed in December. And finally, the multiple platforms of this pan-European group are complementary in nature and continue to hire across Europe.

However, while the company's investors include Lightspeed Venture Partners and TF1, Wikio is potentially missing an investor list, which should allow the top. In addition, the company could be criticized for being slow to integrate with social platforms like Facebook and Twitter. It was a bit late to get in tables and mobile platforms.

Naturally, this round of financing will be very significant for the future of the company. We'll see soon if the capital is provided by European investors or U.S. investors are prepared to facilitate the development of transatlantic Wikio.

Were contacted for comment Wikio team. The company's director of marketing, Frédéric Montagnon, rather tried to stay under the radar, but do not hesitate to point out that "if there is a funding round will be a great round to doing things on a larger scale and why not go beyond Europe ... "

Google to create phone based payment registers

Is called near field communications, and Google thinks is the next step in moving the world toward a cashless society. Preparing for a test run in New York and San Francisco, Google provides businesses with the prototype Veriphone NFC wireless terminals allow customers to make purchases via their smartphones. In addition, NFC enabled smartphones can redeem digital coupons update gift card balances, use loyalty cards and other features designed for the retail boxes. And no less an experiment either. Google has reported paying for the installation of thousands of NFC-enabled handsets in all outlets across both cities.
The first smartphone was the NFC wireless compatible Google Nexus S, the experience of Google in a pure S Samsung Galaxy without overlapping. Currently, the hardware of the NFC will simply read the labels on Google sites allowed elements. But in the future, this test throughout the city, it's likely that Google will push an OTA update to enable other features NFC. The way that can work is that users can take advantage of your smartphone against a specific point in the record, the method FastPay mobile wing, which then reads the client's financial information through WiFi or Bluetooth.

It will be interesting to see how the tests work and how long before expanding nationwide tests. It will also be interesting to see how Google / Veriphone avoid charges for accident or security breaches. There are already programs that can track packages of radio and collect personal information. But security issues aside, we may be seeing the dawn of a cashless society.

Pioneer Computers outs DreamBook ePad H10 tablet

I'm not sure why teams Pioneer DreamBook ePad decided to give the H10 a long name. Subtleties about the name on the side of the pill can be interesting for some people shopping for something different to the core offerings. The tablet will run Android 3.0.

It has a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 and has a dual core processor inside Tegra 2. This must mean that the little beast is capable of fighting against Xoom and Galaxy 10.1 Tab equal apparently. Presentation was made in Australia, where it will arrive in the middle of April.

The price is AUD $ 699, which gives about $ 705 here. Australians are accustomed to being sprayed onto the price of gear and none of them will tell you that the price we pay here in the U.S. is often much cheaper than the direct conversion price. I hope that will happen when / if DreamBook land here or it will not do well.

Tablet SPB engine user interface customized boards Android [Video Demo]

Google is doing everything possible to deter OEMs to modify Android UI honeycomb tables, but that does not mean it is necessarily the way to 3.0 or the highway. We've seen custom work fettled SBP software user interface for Android phones, now the company has sent us some videos of his new Tablet engine user interface.

As before - and the frustration of many users interested - SPB has no plans to offer end users or user interface, OEMs only. You can customize the layout and widgets, adding their own content and operator specific adjustments to differentiate the interface as they see fit.

Four designs are displayed by default different, including a basic UI of three panels of application shortcuts, widgets and a task manager, a side-scrolling panorama 3D native interface similar to the honeycomb, and a Pinch to zoom navigate underwater "theme. In a similar vein, a "universe", a subject that moves through a 3D stack of applications and widgets could be more suited to a touchscreen one point.

SPB could not tell us the names of OEM and customers are working, but we have this interest has been strong since the company began to show off the user interface concepts at the end of last year. That could mean we'll see more personalized slates Android in the near future.

Convert Your Phone to 3G And Avoid Being Hacked

0 comments Posted by ADMIN on Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Are you still using a 2G phone to connect to Internet? If so, then there is a serious danger that their browsing activities may be hacked. Fortunately modern 3G networks are safe to upgrade to a modern 3G smartphone will solve the problem and we have some recommendations at the end of this article.

There is a fundamental vulnerability in 2G networks that hackers are able to exploit and access to information entering or leaving your phone. It is even possible to divert requests for access to a web site that target the hacker's own site which will be in all sorts of dangers.

The trick works by causing the phone to connect to a wireless base station rather than false membership in its provider network, and is very easy to do. While the phone to authenticate the base station there is no requirement for base stations to authenticate back to the phone.
The reason is that it had been assumed that a base station would be too expensive for a hacker, but 2G base stations used by hackers now cost less than £ 10,000.

Once the phone has connected the network of false all data is routed through the computer hacker. The hacker can control all navigation and launch phishing attacks on you to take over their bank details and passwords.

Failure to 2G networks is very difficult if not impossible for network providers to fix. The only safe way to surf the web on your mobile phone or a computer connected to the mobile network is to use only 3G connectivity is always encrypted.

Very often phones default to a connection if the EDGE 2G and 3G connection fails and potential hackers can take advantage of this by blocking a 3G network, forcing your phone to connect to its network of parody.

The only way to be absolutely sure is to buy a phone you can disable the use of 3G networks. To do this you need an Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy S. You can then check the network settings by entering the phone screen test or more simply by installing a free application.

View phones Dialaphone contract and you could get the new iPhone 4, Blackberry or Samsung Galaxy S torch in a great package today!

About This Blog

TecHnooGuide.blogspot.com started as a personal blog in Jan 2011, under the first domain name TechnooGuide.

TechnooGuide aims to provide the latest news about technology and gadgets, social media, computers, and the internet in general to all the people of the world.

Everything just started as a hobby and passion of the editor-in-chief of this blog to write the latest news in the internet, particularly in the field of technology, gadgets, and computers. The simple passion started to get serious as this blog continue to grow.

I’m optimistic the year 2011 would be a success, but of course that wouldn’t happen without you being part of the community. If there’s anything you have to say, I’d love to hear that. Cheers!
