It would be overwhelming to pick for the finest printer for your business. With so many brands and features of the commercial printers that are offered in the market nowadays, purchasing a printer cab be a challenging mission. To screen the numerous options, let me hand you some factors to analyze before you procure your office's commercial printer. But let me first hand you a background on what printers are.
There are basically two kinds of printers: The impact and the non-impact. The former works by literally banging its metal pins to the ink ribbon to make an output. Non-impact printers on the other hand, only send out an ink to print which is soundless. Nowadays, people use the non-impact printers or in its popular type, the laser and the ink jet printers .
Cost
Now that you the types of printer, let's move to the issue of cost.
Laser printers are more high-priced than ink jets. Approximately, color inkjet printers cost $35 to $3,000 while color laser printers are estimated at $350 to $6,000 dollars. Laser printers, as built for bigger work volumes, cost steep in terms of toner replacement. A normal laser toner can print thousands more pages compared to inkjet cartridges. Although inkjet cartridges cost lesser than laser toners, the latter have a lower price per page value which cost around three to four times cheaper than inkjet prints per page.
Printing Speed
Efficient office work requires speed. Laser printers produces output with a relatively higher speed than the ink jet as they are designed to work on huge volume of printing loads. Their place is in the business and office condition's. Laser printers are known to be the fastest printers available in the market today. They can print about 200 pages with monochromic or single-colored ink per minute . Ink jet printers on the other hand are slower at speed.
You also have to study network features and its printing speed. Some printers can be shared on a network so that more than one user can print at the same time. High-end laser printers ordinarily have this feature and they cost more, but is practical for you.
Output Quality
Aside from PPM, check also on the DPI or the dots per inch capacity of the printer. It determines the value of printing, so the higher the DPI, the clearer an output is produced.
Despite the numerous advantages of laser printers than ink jet, the latter produces more quality output in terms of the details of the print . They can print sharper texts for they have no blurry edges. They also do well in colored images and large graphics, finer than laser. However ink jets only allows water-sensitive ink. There is a high risk that the output will be destroyed when water drops on it.
Further, laser printers don't require special kind of papers when printing not like ink jet.. Ink jet printers's ink cannot be absorbed easily by other papers so if you try putting incompatible papers, you will just damage the printing.
Single Function or Multifunction
Determine also if your office needs other equipment like scanner, fax or copier because there are printers now who can include all these functions into one called multi-function machines. Majority businesses nowadays preferred multi-function printers for the reason that they save on capital and office space. Seemingly, single-function printers become almost obsolete in the business scene.
Typically multifunction printers are preferred by those people who have small businesses. This is because of the savings they can get from not buying other devices such as fax and scanner. However, there is a chance that if one of the other functions break down, the entire device cannot be used.
Now that you have gone through the four consideration, you are now ready to accept the task of choosing your finest business printer. Having considered these factors, the former hard task will come simple and easy.
